    Responsible gambling

If gambling has stopped being fun, stop now and talk to someone. Every service below is free, confidential, independent of any casino and independent of us. We earn nothing from these links.

    Gambling is entertainment, not income

Every casino game is built so the operator wins over time. That is not a flaw or a scam, it is how the business works, and no strategy, system or bonus changes it. The house edge is fixed and applies to every spin regardless of what happened on the last one.

Treat what you spend as the cost of an evening out. If you are gambling to make money, to recover a loss, or to cope with something else going on, the odds are not the problem you are facing.

    Warning signs

    • Betting more than you can comfortably lose, or using money set aside for something else.
    • Chasing losses, raising stakes to get back to even.
    • Borrowing, selling things, or hiding what you spend from people close to you.
    • Gambling to escape stress, boredom, anxiety or low mood.
    • Losing interest in things you used to enjoy, or lying about time spent playing.
    • Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut down.

Recognising one of these does not mean you have an addiction. It does mean it is worth talking to one of the services above, all of which are free, and none of which will tell you to stop if you do not want to.

Tools your operator must give you

Any properly licensed casino has to offer these, and whether they are easy to find is part of how we score an operator. If you cannot locate them, that itself tells you something.

    • Deposit limits. Daily, weekly or monthly caps. Increases must not take effect immediately.
    • Loss and wager limits. Ceilings on what you can lose or stake in a period.
    • Session reminders. A clock showing how long you have been playing.
    • Time out. A short cooling-off period, typically 24 hours to six weeks.
    • Self-exclusion. A long block, six months or more, that the operator cannot let you reverse early.
    • Reality checks and history. A clear record of what you have actually deposited and lost.

In the UK, GAMSTOP self-excludes you from every licensed operator at once. Blocking software such as Gamban or BetBlocker works at the device level and covers unlicensed sites too.

    Protecting people under 18

Gambling is restricted to adults, and 18 is the minimum almost everywhere we cover. If children use your devices, use parental control software and keep payment details out of saved logins.

    Where we stand

We earn commission when readers sign up with some operators, and we say so on every page carrying such a link. That creates an obvious incentive to encourage play, so we set a hard limit on it: no urgency tactics, no presenting gambling as a way to make money, no targeting people trying to stop, and responsible-gambling routes are never demoted below commercial content.

If you have self-excluded, please close this page. Nothing here is worth interrupting that.
